Experienced Instructors

David and Ellen Stackpole have trained in the International Shotokan Karate Federation and Japan Karate Association for 35 years, and are 5th and 6th degree black belts.  They have been teaching Shotokan Karate in Charlottesville since 1997, and have founded the Charlottesville Shotokan Karate Club, the UVA Shotokan Karate Club, and the William & Mary Shotokan Karate Club.

• Received training though many masters, including JKA headquarters, Tokyo Japan
• Collegiate, East Coast, and US tournament judges
• East Coast and US champions

David graduated from The College of William & Mary and Georgetown Business School, and owns a wealth management company.  Ellen graduated from William & Mary and the University of Virginia Graduate School of Engineering, and works for Northrop Grumman.  David and Ellen have been married for 30 years and live in Charlottesville, Virginia.
